My name is Linda Woessner, 2nd grade Language Academy teacher. I grew up in the Twin Cities and received my B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota in 1973. Upon graduation, I lived in Latin America as both a Peace Corp Volunteer and later, as a teacher at American Schools in various Central and South American countries. After six years abroad, I returned home to Minnesota and began working with St. Paul schools in a variety of positions. Over the next few years, I pursued my ELL | | Teacher and students working | licensure at Hamline University, along with my Spanish teaching license at the U of M and, finally, my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of St. Thomas.
I have been at Hancock since the year 2000 and I have enjoyed both the children and the staff here. I work with new arrivals to the country and I love my position. | | Teacher and students on a field trip | The children are highly motivated to learn. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction to see the rapid progress that students of this age acquire in a very short time.
In my spare time, I enjoy time with my family, having friends over for dinner, biking, walking, reading and traveling.
