| WELCOME *** SOO DHAWOW *** BIENVENIDO *** ZOO SIAB TOS TXAIS *** to Ms. Heim's ELL webpage! | | I'm glad you stopped by! Although I have worked in the
St. Paul schools for almost 10 years, this is my first year at
Hancock. I already love this great school right across the street from
my alma mater, Hamline University. I have | | Discussing the habits of good readers | undergraduate
degrees in both French and Elementary Education. In 2008, I received
my master's degree in ESL at Hamline. But teachers never stop
learning. Some of the most important things I've learned have come
from my students.
I | | Ms. Heim | grew up in Michigan, and still go back there
for summer vacations with my big family of almost 100 people. I have 2
grown children and a black dog. My favorite things to do include
gardening, swimming, reading and writing. I am also learning | | Cooking something delicious with Ms. Heim | to play
the banjo.
I
am one of eight staff people specifically assigned to kindergarten.
My title is ELL (English Language Learner) teacher. I'll work with all
kindergarten students, but my special focus is on students who are
 | | Presenting Reader's Theater to the class | learning English.
We learn anything fast when we're enjoying
ourselves. That's why we keep our classes fast-paced and fun. We'll
sing, move, draw, act and laugh. Just watch. Soon we'll be speaking
English!
